  1. I have a long way to go before I can retire but my mom just retired and I am worried about her. Unlike my dad, who retired a few years ago and seems to never have enough time to do everything he wants to in a day, my mom really just had her work. The work she did was extremely important and very fulfilling. So, I am really concerned that she might become bored and even depressed without her job, or sense of purpose, every day. She just retired and so far has kept busy traveling to see family she hasn’t gotten to see in a long time but eventually she’ll have to come home without anything to do. I will definitely suggest some of the things you mention here that she might like and hopefully she’ll be able to keep herself busy & happy! Thanks for the info!!

    • When your busy with work and especially when it’s a job you enjoy it seems to become your life, it’s great if you have hobbies that become more of your life after retirement, but if not people are sometimes left not knowing what to do.  Your Mom is lucky to have you looking out for her.

  2. Hi Tes,
You’ve compiled an interesting list of potential jobs for retirees providing good food for thought. I’ve been retired from my career for about 2.5 years now, and I’m a big proponent of seniors finding meaningful part-time work. Work is a major factor in self-esteem and it’s good to remain challenged I’ve chosen to work from home as a blogger and affiliate marketer, and this has been an excellent choice for me. I am intrigued by the online casino jobs though 🙂 That’s an option I hadn’t considered but may have to investigate. Thanks for the info!
